Construction Work Planned for August and September 2006
Our aim to have all new green and tee sites completed and seeded by the end of September this year. This will allow grow in to commence before winter comes along and so enabling us to move towards opening the new layout at the latest in summer 2008.(this date is dependant on weather, growth rates etc)
Unfortunately this will bring some disruption to the playing of the golf course in the next 7/8 weeks. We hope you understand that for the long term development of the facility a little short term pain is required! We will endeavour to keep this to a minimum.
From week commencing 7th August a new green will be constructed at the current 6th hole. To allow the construction team to move quickly and safely there will be a temporary green short of the construction site during the week. The full hole will be playable at weekends and also on Wednesday evenings for EGS competitions where possible. Please take care when playing this hole as there will be several people at work and machinery on the site.
Work continues on the green near the 1st tee and the new green on the 11th hole. They will be finished and seeded in the very near future.
In a few weeks work will commence on a new green between the 2nd and 4th fairways. Some disruption to play is inevitable and we will advise you how we plan to manage this closer to the time.
Ground preparation and seeding will also be taking place in the period on the 3 holes in the field next to the 12th hole. This will have little or no affect on play.
It is our intention wherever possible to keep the golf course open for play during this next 8 week period. We appreciate your patience in this matter and like you all, we are looking forward to this phase of our developments being complete as quickly and efficiently as possible.
